Clash Royale is a mobile game that brings the style, theme, and characters from Clash of Clans. However, it brings all the all in together under a different genre. Similar to Clash of Clans, Clash Royals is also a strategy game, but in Clash Royale you will play a game that is similar to a mobile car collection game. However, the game has a single screen approach, and moves at lightning speed.
When the game begins the playfield is divided into two parts. Both sides represent a team, and both have the duty to defend their castle. Clash Royale offers both plays two additional towers, these towers are used to help defend the castle. This is in case a player falls short on their defense strategies. The game ends when one player is able to destroy the castle of the other player. Or if you drag it enough, that eventually the timer runs out. In this case the player with more score (the one who has destroyed more buildings of the other kingdom) wins.
To make things interesting there is a “sudden death” mode, which appears when both players are at the same level when time runs out. If the players fail to get ahead of the other one during this extended time period, the game ends in a draw.
In Clash of Clans, you can take a set troop into battle, that you can deploy as you wish. However, in Clash Royale you have an unlimited number of troops, that you can deploy as you like. But you need to have enough elixir to spend on them.
Elixir is like power, it refills on its own. As it refills quickly, you will not have to wait for a long period of time. This way, as soon as it fills up, you will have more troops running in the direction of the other kingdom.
You can select troops from 8 cards, but there are only 4 cards at a time that are randomly drawn. You have the opportunity to build your deck during matches. Which means you can choose which troops, or spells you wish to use in your next battle.
You can place your troops anywhere, as long as they are within the highlighted area that appears once you select them. During the beginning of the game the areas are limited to your side alone, but as the game continues and you start destroying enemy towers, you will have more power. You can use different spells, and they are also deployed the same was as troops. However, spells can be placed anywhere, even on the enemy’s castle.
Your troops will be represented by cards, and these cards will act as collectables. Every time you acquire new cards, you will be able to unlock new troops. This happens either by opening a treasure chest that you have conquered during war, or by spending money in the shop. If you get the same cards of troops or spells they will automatically double in your game.
Your cards are sorted in a “deck building”, which is easy and simple to handle. If you wish to swap a card, click on a card in your deck building, and then click on the card you wish to swap it with.
How do I get Gems?
The Clash Royale currency is much like the Clash of Clans premium currency. In Clash Royale the premium currency is in gems, and the standard currency is in coins. You can use the coins to purchase a number of cards from the shop, and you can even use them to level up your spells and troops. If you have premium currency you can use them gems to buy treasure chests, or speed up the process of the chests unlocking.
